Wing Panel Cracks Window While Jet Flies

It was a scary ride aboard a U.S. Airways flight over the weekend.

Some passengers said they saw parts of their plane's wing come off in midair.

The plane took off from Orlando on Saturday. Officials at U.S. Airways said a small part of the wing came off and hit the plane while in flight.



A passenger who was seated in the 19th row snapped a picture just after he saw the panel rip off and crack a window.

Nobody was hurt.

The plane landed safely in Philadelphia. U.S. Airways said the plane was taken out of service, and an investigation is under way.
